Short Description:
Natural of trench 3, still attached to funerary urn
Issued to

Interpretation
-
- Natural stiff silty clay cognisant with the formation of the hill as a glaciated drumlin. Therefore it is likely to be glacial till. In this particular instance, it was used to cap the urn presumably to prevent the contents spilling out when it was inverted. There was a significant change in the firmness of the compaction when the pot was excavated indicating that the cap was packed down and then left to dry before inversion.
