Interpretation

    • Material burned within the confines of pit cut [6019].

    • Burnt material within pit cut [6019]. Originally interpreted as material within a possible post hole and excavated vertically into the pit fill. Excavation of the remaining fill (6020) revealed the concentrated burnt material to expand in a roughly conical shape beneath (6020). Interpreted as charcoal material resulting from burning within pit cut [6019].

  • Width:0.30 Length:1.28m (not fully excavated) Depth: 0.06m
  • Started out as suspected post hole that widened at the bottom into a layer of heavily charred material. Same material throughout context
