All good things must come to an end and sadly this is the case here at Caerfai Camp. That’s right – it’s our last day on site. Our last chance to excavate, draw, survey,…
What comes up must get recorded! Here we have Jamie being schooled by DV’s own Jodie, and Cardiff student Becca being schooled by veteran DV member Jo on how to plan and record sections – ie slices that we have dug through a feature to understand their construction.
After coming on a site tour yesterday, Tony told me how it had always been on his bucket list to join an archaeological dig, but he had never found a chance. Well how could I resist! After inviting them to join us here at the camp, Tony came back with wife Mo today and they spent hours trowelling back an archaeological context to reveal some more masonry.
It was a delight to have them on site and to help them make their dreams a reality! ❤️
Today is our last day here on site at Caerfai Camp! We’ve got plenty to dig, record, photograph and sample. So let’s get cracking!
