Whether you’re a life-long history lover or just looking for something new to do, ‘Dig Caerfai’ at Caerfai /Penpleidiau Promontory Fort has something for everyone.

The two-week excavation is open to the public, and you can visit in person (subject to COVID-19 safety rules), watch online, follow our blog posts and keep up to date with our exciting findings and progress, and even register to join the archaeological team.

Together, our aim is to find out more about the never-before-investigated promontory fort and its surroundings, including the massive ramparts at the entranceway, as well as learning how coastal and terrestrial erosion is affecting this nationally important site.

Whatever you choose, there’s plenty to see and do, both in person and online. You can come along to our Site Tour every day  (except Mondays) at 1130am or 3pm, no need to book! Just come and find Kim (hello@digventures.com) and she will show you around.

Updates and discoveries from the excavation are also uploaded *live* onto the Dig Records (link in the menu bar at the top of the page) so that everyone can see what’s being uncovered.

Keep an eye out for announcements – we will be hosting a live site tour in English and Welsh for those of you who can’t be there in person.
