An excavation is a constantly evolving thing, with new discoveries being made every day. Come along to find out what, or who, we discover!
One of the most exciting things about archaeology is that you can never be sure what will be unearthed. Will it be traces of an Iron Age settlement? A Roman camp? Or something that takes us all completely by surprise?
Daily Tours
Join an archaeology tour at Earth Trust to witness an excavation in action, and to see the dig through the eyes of archaeologists – and people who lived here thousands of years ago!
DigVentures’ experts will take you on a tour of the open dig site, revealing the history hidden beneath our feet as you’ve never seen it before.
Tours will run twice daily between 16th October and 28th October, excluding Mondays. There will be two tours per day, 12pm-1pm and 3pm-4pm.
The tour is free but booking is essential.
Archaeology Evening
The dig will conclude with an Archaeology Evening on Saturday 27th October, where DigVentures archaeologists will present the findings, and bring Oxfordshire’s ancient past to life.
Afterwards, there will be a Q&A, an opportunity to talk to the archaeologists, and to see some of the artefacts for yourself.
The talk is £15 and booking is essential.
