- Flint

Interpretation
-
- A bladelet fragment manufactured using a soft-hammer technique, retaining a lipped bulb and small butt with abrasion. It had tiny discontinuous alternating chips along the edges, which likely reflect incidental damage that occurred following discard. It was lightly patinated with dull white mottling covering some of the surfaces. It was made on a light grey flint with tiny speckled inclusions. It measured >20.4 x 12.0 x 3.2mm. Bladelets manufactured using a soft-hammer technique are typically associated with the Mesolithic, although do occur throughout the later Upper Palaeolithic to early Neolithic (after Butler 2005).
